
Kendra Ketchum
Vice President for Information Technology & Chief Information Officer, Indiana University.
Kendra Ketchum serves as Indiana University’s vice president for information technology and chief information officer, overseeing the university’s technology strategy, infrastructure and services that support IU’s teaching, research and operations. She leads efforts to ensure a secure, innovative and people-focused IT environment across all campuses.
Ketchum joined IU from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she was the inaugural vice president for information management and technology and CIO. She led a major digital transformation that modernized infrastructure, improved service delivery and advanced a comprehensive IT governance framework. Her leadership and expertise in high performance computing and research technologies helped UTSA achieve its Carnegie R1 classification in Feb. 2021. Combining her cybersecurity expertise with the need for developing secure tools and talented support staff, her team developed the first ever Texas Cyber Command on UTSA’s campus.
With more than 25 years of technology experience, including 18 in senior leadership, Ketchum has held key roles at the University of North Texas System, Texas Wesleyan University, Bowling Green State University and the University of Northwestern Ohio. A U.S. Navy veteran, she began her career as a hospital corpsman.
Nationally recognized for her strategic and collaborative leadership, Ketchum serves on several higher education and industry advisory boards, the leadership board for CIOs in higher education, and Dell and Microsoft advisory councils. She also served as board chair for the Lonestar Education and Academic Research Network (LEARN) for two years.
