Greta Hays is a senior vice president with Edelman’s higher education practice, advising colleges and universities across the country on reputational issues, crisis matters, communications challenges, and evolving media opportunities. Her work spans complex issues involving free speech, Title IX, DEI, independent investigations, litigation, and labor matters, as well as proactive storytelling, message development, executive positioning, and thought leadership opportunities with university leaders. She has supported Stanford University, Yale University, Vanderbilt University, University of Virginia, Michigan State University, Clemson University, University of Notre Dame, Gallaudet University, Louisiana State University, and University of Oklahoma, among other clients.

Greta brings more than 15 years of nonprofit experience, spanning both education and arts sectors. She previously served as associate vice president of communications and external relations for an international higher education trade association representing 180 private colleges and universities, where she led communications initiatives focused on access to education for incarcerated individuals, support for undocumented students, and COVID-19 stimulus relief.
