Matt Acevedo is the Executive Director of Learning Innovation and Faculty Engagement at the University of Miami, where he leads a team of designers and technologists to promote UM’s teaching mission through student-centered pedagogies and principled uses of educational technology, including UM’s emerging efforts to enhance teaching and learning through generative artificial intelligence.

His scholarly and professional interests lie at the intersections of educational and faculty development, learning technologies, and critical and equity-focused pedagogies. Matt holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education, and M.A. in Instructional Design and Technology, and a B.F.A. in Film.
