Dr. Stephen Schellenberg serves as Faculty Fellow for the First Year Seminar and Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at San Diego State University. Since joining SDSU in 2002, he has collaborated across academic and student affairs, leading and contributing to various initiatives and interventions designed to promote the learning, development, and success of all students (e.g., Supplemental Instruction, learning analytics, curriculum redesign, etc.).

During an administrative tour-of-duty from 2013 to 2021, his roles included serving as Accreditation Liaison Officer and culminated as the Associate Vice President for Curriculum, Assessment, and Accreditation. In addition, Stephen has served in various elected and ex officio roles in the SDSU University Senate and currently serves as its chair.
